Cutting Through the Canvas

how-to-figurative painting in oils

Artwork by Linder Kaur

Me? I guess it’s about living life in the fullest way possible including the placement of Art in your life. I paint sporadically. Sometimes full of Passion turning out a dozen paintings.., and then sometimes abject disappointment with my projects that lie sitting on the shelf.

I think its due to lack of learning the basics why the drawings and paintings never match what goes on inside my head. I am battling through the Anatomy Master Class and have learned a lot. Takes a lot of repetition to train the brain. I have seen the difference the course has made with my figurative paintings. Now the people I paint look more lifelike, have movement and don’t look so arthritic.

However, I want to learn more. Getting the foundation of the artwork right and painting just as the ancients did. They really knew the correct way to go about setting up the canvas, the use of paints and the effects of layering on the completed masterpiece.

I am trying to win the course because it may be the answer to my prayers but I am unable to afford it. Its a great course and I have watched every video I can find about it.
I want to learn to be the very best I can and be the top of my game at portrait and figurative painting in oils.

People can help me and my progress by voting for my charming painting of Cafe in Paris.

Thank you!
