I want to paint as the old masters

My name is Wassim Touir, I’m 18 years old. I loved drawing since I was a little kid. I always tried to develop my art through training and I found that the Old Masters Academy competition is a very good opportunity, so I give it a shot hopping that I win it.

I really adore classical painting and I want to paint professionally as the old masters. And since schools nowadays does not teach it, however they want you to follow the footsteps of being a contemporary artist and they want you to kind of fall into the mold of what an artist meant today and that was not my nature, that’s why I want to win the Old Masters Academy competition because it is one of the few places that still teach fine arts the old way and for me it is a place that sets the gold standard in teaching classical art that’s why I did my best to win it so that I can learn new things and develop my painting skills.

My biggest challenges are painting figures, portraits and still lives.
