My art is a bit like rolling a dice! I’m never sure just how things will turn out

I’m a mature age art student currently studying art online. This is extremely challenging when you have no practical understanding of different techniques and methods. I have often looked at sample lectures from the Old Masters Academy, which I prefer instead of online tutorials that often contain misguided or incorrect information.

I want to learn art in a way that builds skills correctly; how to draw, paint, and get proportion, scale, values, and techniques correct. To have confidence. Only then can I truly fly as an artist by building on a solid foundation and expressing my passion and artistry.

I see myself as an artist but my art at this moment lacks mastery. I need to plug the holes in my knowledge, to develop reliable skills and techniques.
