I struggle to find someone to teach me more in depth understanding of art

Hi I am an 29 year old with an diploma in architectural Drafting.
Art have been part of my life since I can remember.
It have helped me through some tough times in my life and I always turn to the pages when I need to cope with life.

Portraits have especially been my go to, to capture the emotion and thoughts of a person.

My artistic challenges is the technical part of art. The “rules” of art. I struggle to find someone to teach me more in depth understanding of art and how to use the rules to express yourself.
Everybody just tells to just express myself, but I want in depth understanding of art and its form of expression.

I have followed the old masters academy for over a few years now. Its one of a few art institutions that will bring back good art and the skills of good art.

I would be over the moon if I can win the old masters Academy course as this will help me on my journey to better myself and contribute to the art world. Bringing back the old techniques.

The few paintings I have done with the old techniques I know have been very popular and people were hesitant at first and when you explain to them the techniques and reason behind something they absolutely love it
