I am a 70 year old artist from Mechanicville, NY. I have been drawing since I could hold a pencil but I really became serious after I took an oil painting class in 1996. Now I work primarily in oils.

Art isn’t just a hobby for me. It is part of who I am. It’s my way of processing the world around me and a way to express my inner thoughts and feelings. I spend approximately 16 hours a week creating art.

Art has taught me to see beauty in unexpected places and appreciate the details others might miss.

One of my biggest challenges is consistency achieving accurate anatomy. I am constantly studying anatomy books, particularly studying the structure of the face for my portrait paintings.

I am eager to deepen my understanding of classical drawing and painting techniques. I am also fascinated by the pre-Raphaelites and would love to learn more about their methods and philosophies.

Ultimately, I want to develop a strong personal style that allows me to communicate my ideas more effectively.

I am incredibly impressed by the Old Master’s Academy dedication to preserving and teaching classical art techniques.

Winning the Old Master’s Academy Course would provide me with the structured learning environment and expert guidance I need to overcome my challenges in creating realism in my portrait paintings.

I believe the course would significantly accelerate my artistic development and allow me to create more compelling and impactful work
