Hello i am a 30 years old mother of 3 girls who are now old enough to allow me to start to rediscover myself. I made the grave mistake when i was young of listening to other people who i thought had my best interests at heart and did not pursue the the fine arts degree opportunity that was offered to me in highschool. And 12 years, marriage and 3 babies later; here i am with a hunger to return to my old love.

Art has been a guilty pleasure that i kept in a drawer by my bed and in boxes in storage which has just now reemerged. …

… I was working as a graphic designer for 15 years, I have 3 chidren and when we lost our job I returned to art seriously. I always loved to paint together with my and other children. As they are now teenagers I have more time to dive deep into art.

I love to paint with aquarelle, acryl and silk I started oil with ‘alla-prima’ a few years ago.
Oil is different and love at first sight.

My name is Rachel Levine and I’m 28 years old, and living in Oakland CA. When I moved here 4 years ago, I decided that I was finally going to become a professional artist.
I have done art all my life, and it’s always had a very special meaning to me. Growing up, I would pause dvds I had and copy what was on the screen to the best of my ability, and do this every single day.

My household wasn’t peaceful either, so my favorite activity would be to draw made up characters with my sister, and create a whole unique world based out of our imagination. I could never stay focused in school, but what always held my attention was art. There are many things I’d like to work on with my art. Anatomy, color theory, maybe even still life. Hi, my name is Nik and l am 21 years old. I’m staying with my parents. We have six members in our family.

I love art very much and that is my hobby. I do have a little knowledge about pencil drawing but not much about painting.

I have not taken any art lessons, I just learnt things on my own – I spend almost all the hours of the day in studying art. I think I have improved a lot from the time I started. It doesn’t mean that I’m good enough but I have a lot to learn more and that is the reason I’m entering this competition.
